My Approach

I primarily use narrative therapy to support people to become agents of change in their own lives. Narrative therapy is non-blaming and acknowledges the client as the expert of their own lives. 

 

I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), an established evidence-based practice for healing trauma. I use trauma-informed approaches which take into account how people can adopt roles and behaviours to protect themselves from further pain and distress. This includes techniques for calming the body's autonomic nervous systems in conjunction with talking therapy.
